Start with three decisions: the bandana shape, the finished size and how your brand will appear. This guide helps pet brands and retailers prepare a clear brief for custom dog bandanas without getting lost in technical details.

1. Choose the bandana style
PetsAccessoryHub lists triangle, square and over-the-collar formats. Choose the format first: it determines how the bandana is worn and how much of the pattern remains visible.
| Style | What to consider | Confirm in your brief |
|---|---|---|
| Triangle | A defined triangular front for a straightforward collection design. | Top-edge width, center drop and fastening method. |
| Square | A folded presentation; part of the artwork will disappear inside the fold. | Finished side length, intended fold and visible artwork. |
| Over-the-collar | The collar passes through a sleeve. Compatibility depends on the finished opening. | Body width, center drop, sleeve opening and intended collar width. |
For a quick comparison, send the supplier a reference photo of the format you prefer. A style name alone does not define its dimensions or construction.
2. Confirm measurements—not just M or L
Our current product page lists M and L options. Ask for the finished measurements for your chosen format before selecting quantities. The same size name should not be assumed to mean the same fit across different designs.
| Size option | What to request | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| M | Finished dimensions in inches and centimeters; intended neck fit or collar compatibility. | Compare with the dogs and collars your collection is designed for. |
| L | The same measurements, plus a view of the artwork at this size. | Check whether the print and label should stay the same size or scale up. |
For tie-on designs, distinguish the full top-edge length from the usable neck fit after tying. For over-the-collar designs, check the sleeve with the intended collar. Approve fit on a physical sample rather than relying only on a styled photograph.
3. Add your pattern and a separate logo label
You can submit your own pattern for printing. Send the artwork, preferred colors and a reference showing the pattern scale you want. Confirm the final print layout through artwork and sample review.
The print creates the collection's look; a separate label can carry your brand. Our usual logo treatment is a soft rubber or PU label sewn onto the lower-right side edge. Here, “right” means the viewer's right when looking at the bandana's outward-facing front.
Specify the label material, logo artwork, label dimensions and distance from the edge. Review the position after folding or fitting the bandana, so the label remains visible. The exact placement should suit the selected format and finished size.
4. Send a brief that is easy to quote
- Style: triangle, square or over-the-collar, with a reference.
- Sizes: requested finished dimensions and quantity for each size.
- Pattern: artwork file, colors and preferred scale.
- Logo label: soft rubber or PU, artwork and preferred dimensions.
- Packaging: individual packing, label or other requirements.
- Sample review: flat view, wearing view and close-up of the sewn label.
